Cup-System
The cup will be played as a Single-Elimination Cup with a Veto system.
At the beginning of the Cup everyone needs to join our BattlePro-Cup Lobby (you will find it under battlepro/Storm - Matchmaking). Once in the Lobby you just need to wait until your Match appears on the left table and than you can join it and you get forced automatically to the Matchservers.
As soon as you are on the Matchserver there is a Button on the left side (Black Flag Symbol), one Player of each Team needs to click this Button! After one Player of each Team clicked it, an automatic Map-Veto is starting. At the moment the Veto is only Chatbased (Widget version will come soon). Be careful that you always read what the veto-system advices you in the Chat, especially on BO3 where comes one Point where you have to choose a Map instead of voting it out. (on BO1 all Maps are voted out, the last gets played)
After the Veto is over the server automatically skips to the maps which got chosen and the Match begins. The scores get automatically Transmitted to the Website and the Matchlobby.
As soon as the Match is over everyone gets forced back to the Lobby automatically.
COMPREHENSIBLE RULES
BattlePro incorporates the rules of Battle mode putting more emphasis on challenge, competition and cooperation.
This is a mode being played exclusively in 3v3, mainly with rockets. It’s a very fast mode where you reappear a few seconds after being eliminated. The maps consist of 6 poles, 3 belonging to the blue team, 3 belonging to the red team (Note that some maps have an Engaging Pole, but we'll get to that later). The poles are labeled A, B and C.
The Goals are simple: Both teams have to defend 3 poles and capture 3 poles (A, B and C). Problem: You cannot attack whenever you want, you must be in the Attack Phase.
At the beginning of the game, in order to obtain the Attack Phase, you must manage to touch one of the first opposing poles (before the enemy reaches your owns).
Once the Attack Phase is yours, you can eliminate as many enemies as you want without having to worry about defending your poles BUT your time is limited. You have 14 sec to reach enemies’ poles. Each time you reach and touch a pole you restore 7 sec to the Attack Phase.
If you can’t manage to touch a pole during this time, your team switches to Defense Phase. Now, you have to keep the enemies from reaching your poles.
CAPTURE ORDER
A, B, C, labeling of poles plays a vital role in BattlePro. It implicitly informs you about their importance and the capture order. If you ignore this order, you’ll end up six feet under.
What you should know about the poles when you're in the Attack Phase :
- Pole A aka the ultimate goal: it is generally the furthest pole from your position. It’s located next to the enemies’ spawn making it a real hornet's nest to capture. Capture it as soon as possible.
- Pole B aka the « pole next door »: Its function is hybrid between A and C.
Generally set apart, you can use it to attack by a diverted road without being spotted and secure the time more easily. The backside effect is its capacity to force the opponents to split instead of getting compact next to pole C.
It’s important not to neglect it.
- Pole C aka the « rescue pole »: When you spawn, pole C is usually the easiest to reach and the closest to your position. It’s your first target. Its most valuable utility is its capacity to help you reaching poles A and B. Without it, you’ll be lost. Save the best for last, make pole C your dessert.
Note: Sometimes pole B is more important than pole A and should be captured first. A little tip to know which pole has to be taken first is to ponder the question: "Which pole is the hardest to reach? »
What you should know when you defend:
As outlined above, the most important poles are A and B. To avoid surprises, don’t focus too much on C. To defend a pole, kill the enemies approaching. Note that you can block the capture by staying on a pole.
ENGAGING POLE
On certain maps, the engagement pole is used to break the tie and choose which team attacks first. The winning team gets an Attack Phase of 45 sec renewable. However, keep in mind that as soon as a pole is touched, the timer resets to 14 sec. So don’t hurry, you have time to make good use of this precious time.
Besides the bonus time, the Engaging Pole also grants a Capture Speed Bonus allowing you to capture the opposing poles faster, limited to the first Attack Phase. The Capture Speed Bonus is time-limited and may vary from low to high intensity, according to the differences between your capture and the enemies’ capture.
For example: if you have a gap of 10, the bonus will be huge and with a difference of 1, it will be very low or nonexistent.
GLOBAL TIMER & VICTORY CONDITIONS
A round lasts 15 minutes overall. There is a warmup before and between each round.
When there are only 3 minutes remaining, there is a global capture boost bonus for all players. You shouldn’t claim victory too quickly, during this Capture Boost, everything could change.
If neither team manages to capture the 3 poles, the biggest percentage of capture will break the tie.
SPAWN PROTECT & GAMEPLAY NICETIES
When you die, you respawn 3 seconds later. When you reappear, your character will blink: you are under spawn protect, ie. you are invincible for 4 seconds. Spawn protect can be removed by shooting a rocket, touching one of your poles, or after 4 seconds in any case.
Once your life is restored on a HealPad, you recover all your rockets.
PARAGON TOURNAMENT RULES
Glitches are not allowed.
You are not allowed to go on high walls or various locations that are not permitted by the mapper. Most of these locations are blackscreened.
If you lose one of your teammate during a game, the game will pause automatically. On resumption, the team that initiated the Pause must defend for 45 seconds.
ADMIN ASSISTANCE
If you need to call an administrator during a match, you can find us on our Teamspeak (paragon-esports.com) or you can click on the proper Widget in the game. The Widget warns an admin in the lobby who will join the game to help you.
In case of problems related to game internals, contact an admin.
SPECTATORS
You can join a server as spectator through the lobby, it is strictly forbidden to talk with the players during the Cup (via Teamspeak, Skype or other). If a team doesn’t want any audience, it has the right to impose it. Any spectator should leave the server immediately.
To facilitate your spectator experience, here are some keypad shortcuts:
8: Watch the Blue Team
9: Watch the Red team
0: Observe the attacking team
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7: Watch the players in the order they appear on the screen.
MAPPACK
You can find the BattlePro Mappack .
As soon as the cup has started, it is impossible to register or join in progress.
We hope to see many teams participate and enjoy the Cup!
