Tell us about yourself:My name is Eric and I am 19 years old. I’ve played Tennis & handball for roughly 8 years. I also used to play soccer when I was younger for about 2 years. After stopping Tennis & Handball, I began to visit a MMA course for 2-3 a week. I had to stop it after 3 years as well because I was frantically busy with school (Abitur – if you are not familiar with the german school examination: It’s approximately equivalent with the British A levels). Anyways, I deeply regret that I’ve stopped everything in the end. If I can pass on any life lesson, then it’s „Keep track on your passion, regardless of the pressure and problems you have to deal with“
I came in touch of Shootmania because I was once an addicted TMNF Dirt player. I played this wonderful game for 2 years (I believe 2007-2009) and I was present in the competitve dirt scene for a while. Additionally, I leaded a dirt team. After finishing my little journey with trackmania (Maybe I’ll restart it since Paragon is now expanding to Trackmania?), I heard of the announcement of a FPS game developed by the crew that was responsible for my great times with TMNF. So I started a new journey and began playing Shootmania in Winter 2012. I started with the royal game mode because it fascinated me and I also built a couple of royal maps during this period. Later on, I believe since 2014‘s summer, I began playing Elite on a more serious matter. I joined the gtx community in the end of last year but I took a break of the game because I was getting fairly busy with school. When I came back to Shootmania this summer, I’ve met nice and friendly people like Buttscope, Alfa & Rara (and later on Venom) that kept me motivated to practice more for Elite because we were thinking about forming a team which is now known as “Diamond“. I have never ever been so active in Shootmania like during this summer & autumn. Currently, I am a bit struggeling to be active because I recently started working in a super market for 3-4 times a week in the evening. Nonetheless, I still consider myself still as a fairly active player.
I did a few breaks but yet I always came back because I like Maniaplanet for its wide range of possibilites. Whether you are motivated to reach the top ladder of the competitive scene or you are motivated to create some mind-blowing creative stuff. Maniaplanet is a place for everyone. In addition to Maniaplanet’s great spectrum of opportunites, I like the game for having such a strong connection within the community. Ye, we often notice how people insult each other while playing on the Matchmaking server. But in spite of all this, I do believe that Maniaplanet has the most polite, helpful & friendly community that any game can offer. And the people’s anger we often experience on the public server is mainly rooted in the current crucial situation of Maniaplanet. I want to help this very game to overcome its worse situation because of several reasons: Because this is one of the best games I’ve ever played with an incredible potential and it simply deserves to receive as much attention as other popular games; Because of the awesome community that is still believing of the game’s success that still lays in the future. I admire Paragon for being a significant contributor for a better future of Maniaplanet e.g. by holding the Paragon league for over a year now, for providing an unbelievable amount of public servers to play & practice on and for being responsible that we could see an ESWC 2015 – the major tournament of SM - although the chances were pretty low this year. The paragon community undoubtedly made great effort for keeping its role as large contributor for Maniaplanet’s greater good and I really appreciate that. I am always very careful when I join a team because I hated it as a former team leader when member left the clan after a short while. Paragon is definitely the right choice: Friendly and helpful people, making every imaginable effort to increase SM’s playerbase and not bad players at all
It would be awesome to join this cool community!
